I got accepted into the PhD program in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Wake Forest!!!!
I am really excited about it. It's a PhD program in Microbiology and Immunology at Wake Forest University. If I decide on this program, my tuition (worth about $27,000) would be paid for, I'd have a stipend of about $21,000 a year, the program would pay $150 a month toward a $183 health insurance policy (amounting to $33 a month with a dental add-on for $22), and I'd get a brand-new IBM ThinkPad. It's a really good deal and a good school. With 10 faculty and 30 grad students, there is a lot of faculty-student interaction. Every single faculty member is funded with at least one grant, including one professor with a $9.2 million grant from the NIH for bio-defense research.
Here's the email:
Hi Roberta, we met as a faculty this week to discuss the applicants and you were really right at the top of everyone's list. Congrats on making such a positive impression on many levels! We have not done anything official yet, but I just wanted you to know that we really want you in this program and we are starting the paperwork to get you an offer.
Please keep an eye out for a letter from the grad school. When you decide if Wake is the right place for you, please let me know.
thanks and have a great weekend!
Beth
